Slowly

Very sorry for the lack of updates. I knew that march and April would be a write off. May is looking that way too unfortunately. This is why I tried to get it out in feb, since long delays were going to be the order of the day otherwise. Frankly I'm surprised that I have not had a few more "bumps" from the AoI users.

So I want to make one thing very clear. Its fine to request info on updates. Its makes a big difference on what in my spare time gets the time. I would like to say that I'm a super disciplined machine with great work/fun allocation skills. However I'm not. So don't feel you can't keep asking whats going on.

The other thing I want to make clear, is that it will get finished to version 1. I will push it that far and then open up the source. I may take to the end of the year, but it will get there.

Oh and just in case your interested. I have been teaching and writing for work. Also add some unprodctivness in there as well.

*bump*

Ok, I confess - I've been too polite to push you up 'till now. But you and I seem quite similar (except I don't have any HDDs orphaned in NZ), so I understand how a nudge from keen users-to-be can motivate.

I've been showing your previous appetiser vids to lots of friends, saying "AOI is going to have this soon", so I am keen as mustard, to put it mildly. :o)

Basically, I have major plans for your fluid sim code, so let's have it man!

Oh, and by the way: if your wife is so perfect, why can't she break out a copy of JSwat and debug some lines of code?

Really looking forward to the fluid sim plugin.

Cheers mate!
Nik.

That previous post was by me - I just thought I had to post anonymously unless I had some sort of blogger id...

Cheers!

I have suggested to my wife many times that she could help with coding. But after she see's me go slightly insane every time I have a "minus" sign bug or simlar, she swears that she will never touch the stuff.

But then again, she is getting better a Bash. well good enought to play the games she likes.

But then again, she is getting better a Bash

Well, games are a real inducement... I keep telling everyone my linux noteboox is intensely boring because it has no games on it - but they find them anyway *sigh*.

I've just installed linux on a notebook for my sister - her iBook developed SADS (Sudden Apple Death Syndrome). Today she asked me a question about how the file browser on linux did something, and I had to tell her I had no idea, but I could look into it for her... :o)

Cheers mate!

Just to let you know, I am really looking forward to the release.
I really appreciate what you are doing. I don't like the "whens the release!? whens the release!? whens the release!?" thing, but if thats what it takes to motivate you...

whens the release!?

Well I must finnish a paper I'm working or I'll be looking for work. So that will be "done" in 2 weeks.

I will give some more accurate timing after then.

In the mean time I dabble with the code for a break from writing. I should have a new "splash" to show you within 2 weeks.

Well, I'm sure I'm not the only one to be looking forward to the next splash. :o)

Cheers!

I "youtubed" today and found some nice fliud sim from Blender where I can clearly see the bounding-box.

Afaik this will be in Blender from 2.5 on...

I hope to make something similar or better one day.

Well I don't have a bounding box if you don't want one. Also at this stage the bounding box just removes fluid. To get the effect you see in the blender animations you would need to add to manulay.

For those of you that are sick of waiting, you can also try blenders latest realease. Its a good program (As is AoI). The fluids are very similar to want i want to achive.
